Our qualitative face fit testing service ensures that tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment (RPE), such as disposable and half-mask respirators, provides an effective seal for the individual wearer. A mask that does not fit correctly cannot provide adequate protection, even if it is the correct specification.

Using recognised testing methods in line with HSE INDG479 Guidance on Respiratory Protective Equipment Fit Testing, our competent testers assess how the respirator performs while the wearer carries out a series of movements that replicate normal working activities. The process confirms whether contaminated air could leak into the mask and identifies the correct make and size where necessary.

Following a successful test, we provide certification and practical instruction on correct fitting, daily checks and limitations of use, helping employers demonstrate compliance and ensuring workers are properly protected when using RPE.
